A program of American Works, including Michelle Areyzaga (soprano) and Gerald Rizzer (piano) performing: Barber’s ‘Knoxville: Summer of 1915’, op. 24; Robert Cohen’s ‘Parable’ (Winner of the “Discover America IX” competition); and Gottlieb’s ‘Downtown Blues for Uptown Halls’ — joined by Elizandro Garcia-Montoya (clarinet). The program also features Bernstein’s Sonata for clarinet and piano, Schelle’s ‘Chords that Rhyme with your Eyes’, and another competition winner, Timofeev’s ‘Phoenix’.
