“Winter Song”

Ms Areyzaga presents a selection of songs assisted by violin, cello and piano. Hear the world premiere of 2 songs by Chicago composer Wayland Rogers on poetry by the Chilean poet Gabriela Mistral and dedicated to Ms. Areyzaga.

The 2nd half of the concert follows with Herman Berlinski’s “From the World of My Father” for cello and piano, firstwritten in 1938 but lost during WWII. The work was rewritten in 1948 in memory of Berlinski’s father. The concert closes with the dramatic “Trio Pathetique” for Piano Trio written by the Russian composer Mikhail Glinka.
